Story

Dream Singles is a nest of scams. I fell for the classic “I’ll be visiting your city soon—maybe you can help me get settled” approach, which draws you in and encourages you to start writing and building a connection. Then came the supposed emergency—no power, no food, freezing conditions, and a sick daughter. Caught off guard and wanting to help, I ended up sending a significant amount of money for things like a generator, heater, and food. At the time, I was new to online dating in Ukraine and didn’t realize that the messages were likely written by a translator or third party whose only goal was to extract money. After I began to suspect something was wrong, I discovered that the same profile—Ekaterina, ID: 10789257—appears on numerous other websites. Once I spent over $1,000 on messages to obtain her contact email, she stopped responding to my direct emails. Meanwhile, her profile remained active across multiple platforms, continuing to engage other men. Looking back, I doubt the woman in the photos even knows who I am. This experience had real consequences for me personally, coming at a time when I was already emotionally vulnerable. It was a hard and costly lesson. Unfortunately, profiles like this are still out there, continuing to mislead others, and platforms that allow this kind of behavior should be held accountable.

Additional Info

Dream Singles lists dozens of profiles of Russian and Ukrainian women who claim to live in Southeast Florida. Since I live in this area, I reached out to ten of them. Every interaction followed the same pattern: they were extremely warm, romantic, and eager to build something serious, and they replied quickly to every message—which, of course, encourages more paid communication. We would even go as far as discussing where to meet for lunch. But the moment I tried to arrange an actual date, their interest disappeared. In one case, after declining a formal date request, the person continued messaging me about meeting off the site—only to stand me up three separate times!   I’m familiar with many of the locations shown in their photos, but when I asked specific questions about those places, the person responding had no real knowledge. It became clear that the interactions weren’t genuine. Occasionally, you might come across a real person, but overall, the site lacks sincerity. I also noticed that many of these profiles appear across multiple platforms. While the names and ages often stay the same, the details about where they live or what they do frequently change. If you communicate with the same profile on different sites, you’ll often receive completely different answers to the same questions, suggesting that different people—or translators—are handling the messages. Some women on other platforms have even mentioned that they participated in “free” photo shoots and lost control over how their images are used, including being posted on sites like Dream Singles. On top of that, many profiles on Dream Singles appear heavily edited—enhanced features, altered body shapes, and even modified clothing to appear more revealing compared to the same photos elsewhere.   Note that even Kate’s photo-shopped 2023 picture has been embellished bigger for her present 2026 main photo —  the whole experience feels artificial, and it wouldn’t be surprising if automated systems are now being used to handle some of the communication.   A paid subscription to a quality reverse image software site is a must for Slavic online dating outside of matchmakers.
